Your session is booked and now it is time to have some fun tackling the question, What Should We Wear?! Your session is an investment and I want you looking incredible and coordinated without the stress of finding the perfect combination or going store to store to find exactly what you need. Don’t forget to check the options in the Client Closet (shown at the bottom of your options) - these are pieces I personally own and you are welcome to borrow for your session. Sometimes you’ll see some of the exact pieces I own included in the recommendations. The Style Guide is awesome because it links to each clothing item and you can purchase right through the link. Even if you aren’t interested in purchasing all new outfits, the tool is great for inspiration of pieces you can pull from your own closet. Once you’re happy with your combination click the link to email yourself the summary - you’ll have all of your selected items and shopping links in one place. So easy and convenient! In the meantime, I’m here to help and walk through and questions or ideas you may have. If there is something from my Client Closet you would like to borrow please let me know asap so I can set it aside for you. Have fun with the tool, and step out of your comfort zone with your session outfits - your images will be elevated if you set aside your everyday wear and embrace the Style Guide recommendations. Do's
• In the questionnaire choose 3 to 4 colors that compliment each other. For example, Olives/Mustards/Navys or Greys/Ivory/Beiges/Blacks.
• Choose colored/pattern pants for males
• Choose 2 different patterns (ie stripe + polka dot, plaid + floral, etc.) for every 1 solid.
• Textures are so important! Choose 1 texture for every 1 solid (ie linen, lace, crochet, velvet, wool, etc)
• For a family of 5 choose 2 solids, 2 patterns, and 1 texture
• For a family of 4 choose 2 patterns, 1 solid, 1 texture
• Cooler weather calls for layering! Using cardigans, vests, stocking caps, and knee high socks to stay warm while maintaining style.
Do Not’s
• Baggier is not better for women - accentuate, don’t hide
• Large logos - too distracting
• Mixing similar patterns - multiple plaids is distracting
• Matching colors - coordinating with all reds or all blacks can be dated
• Visible diaper or undergarment - throw on some bloomers or leggings
• Matching denim jeans - limit jeans to 1 person in the session
• Dress like its every day - step outside of the box. It’s worth it!
